How do you organize your day?
I live and die by my. calendar. Every Sunday night I start breaking down the week/weeks ahead. Monday I meet with my assistant and make sure we have all our bases covered. The early part of the week is dedicated to leadership/ownership meetings and check-ins with key department heads. When I travel, I try and go mid-week and either make a weekend out of the trip or get home by Friday night. Our industry is very relationship focused, so there is a lot of entertaining and attending events. The perk is they’re usually great events or invites.
What is it about your job that makes you feel it’s the right fit for you?
The travel and access to great places and events . I love music and the creative process . I have a wild and vast imagination. I've seen a lot. I am diverse , unique and my life time of experience has installed things in my brain. Collectives that I don't think others possess.
What challenges keep you awake at night?
My demon is running out of time!
What are some of the rules you live by.
Don t get caught up and blinded by the light. Be a leader not a boss. Be a teacher but never stop learning. You are only good as your last day. No one is too big to fail. Treat everyone equal but as individuals!
Is work/life balance ever a problem with you? If so, what is one no-fail tactic you use to create balance?
Since my work has a very social element to it, there is a ton of crossover. I love what I do and it's not work to me. It never was. I feel blessed and grateful to be me. I'm a serial killer at delegating . If I've been there done that I'd rather let some one else get a chance to grow.
Was there ever a moment in your career where you’ve thought, “I made it!” What was it?
I don’t believe a true entrepreneur ever feels like they have “totally” made it. There are times spent with music icons like Justin Timberlake, Kevin Dillion, and Ice Cube where I was blown away.
What qualities does it take for someone to be successful in your line of work.
Balls like coconuts! A heart of gold and will of steal. Stay healthy and focused. Stay single as long as you can. Don't sleep!
What advice do you wish you could tell a 21-year-old version of yourself?
Have three skills and three skills to fall back on. Be a leader not a follower. Listen to the experts and make your own version. No one is smarter or better then you. There is more then one way to skin a cat. Finally, don't ever skin a cat.
If you weren’t running a national experiential marketing agency, what would you be doing?
More charity work. Writing my screen play. Doing stand up comedy. Doing Ray Donovan, Micheal Clayton stuff like I used to!
